Lyttelton Farmers' Market
I am at the Lyttelton Farmers' Market each fortnight selling seasonal cakes, biscuits, sweet and savoury tarts, cold curry pies and an excellent selection of hot soup over autumn and winter. My range changes each week depending on what is available and any requests I may have had.
The farmers' market is a fantastic place to spend the morning, with local musicians, a range of stallholders selling everything - from farmed venison to flavoured olive oils; Lyttelton-made spice rubs to organic fruit and vegetables; plants and seedlings to fresh flowers; from ready-to-eat meals and treats to fresh filleted or whole fish caught locally. The market is on, rain or shine, so pop over and check it out. It's fast gaining a reputation for being a great morning out in Canterbury. And don't forget to do your bit for the planet and take your own bag and container for cake and other goodies.
